monkeying around
The aim for this room was to turn it into a welcoming space to sleep two kids. As you can see from the mood board, these clients followed by design plan to the letter, it was so exciting to see it come to life. They DIY’d the whole project, including wallpapering and installing the wall shelf themselves, and did such a fabulous job!
When working with awkward shapes it’s important to embrace what you cannot change. This long narrow window felt incredibly unbalanced. To draw attention away from it I found this fun bold print which instantly attracts they eye. Only doing this 2/3 then allowed the window to be framed by the blank space, finished off with a timber shelf to bring warmth and disguise where the wallpaper ends for a nice clean finish.
