enhancing your style
Moving into a new home can be such an exciting time. Once you’re settled in its time to make your mark on the place. Sometimes that entails big alterations and changes, sometimes it’s finding the right finishing touches to impart your style and enhance the home. The latter was the case in this instance.
Finding the right lighting and furnishings can be an overwhelming task when presented with all of the options in the makret. Will what’s in style suit your house? What is the best table for our awkward space? These lovely clients got me on board to ensure their money was spent well chosing the best finishes for them and this fab retro beauty.
After meeting with my clients and guaging their style I go away to start pulling pieces together. This ensures we’re both on the same page and I can present them with a couple of different options before making any actual purchases. In this case I wanted to show them the difference between going light and dark, and giving them a few lighting options that would work for the space. The key here being such a feature of the space, and needing to be wide and narrow as not to block the view or lower the ceiling. Together we decided the light beachy vibe was most them, and moved ahead with the plan.
One of the crucial changes to this space was finding a stylish, yet practical solution to replacing the heavy dated drapes that close off the sunroom. Bringing in these honeycomb sliding doors not only fit the retro aesthetic of the home, they’re super insulating meaning during the cold winter months they’re keeping heat in as well as allowing plenty of light to filter through. They were the perfect fit for this home and my client was so happy with them they ordered an additional set for another doorway.
