Our home… A labour of love

When we first moved into our old gal, nearly 7 years ago we had some immediate changes to make and a shoestring budget. We knew we had long term plans for the home but in the meantime it needed some urgent attention in order for us to live a semi comfortable life in here with our kids. Balancing this out with our longer term plans for the home which included adding a garage with internal access meant doing some minor renos without spending too much knowing it was a short term solution.

When we first moved in the laundry was walled off and in the kitchen and the kitchen was non existent. As an avid foodie who loves to cook and bake we needed to remdy this asap. We put in a ‘temporary’ Mitre 10 kitchen in the three weeks we had between getting the keys and moving out of our old home. It was also incredibly dark so when we opened it up we added a huge window to let light into what are traditionally very dark homes.
