Step 1. Find something to paint. Shop your own home or nab a bargain like I did with these $30 k-mark lockers!
Tips and tricks to spraypainting:
If the item requires assembly like these lockers paint each item separately then put together.
Less is more. Spraypaint will easily run or drip when you’re holding the can too close or painting it on too thick. Multiple thin coats will give you a much better finish then trying to rush it and get just one coat on for coverage.
Apply coats in different directions, this will give you the most even coverage.
Overlap - to avoid your piece looking stripy overlap as you go across each time.
Start spraying before you hit the object and don’t stop until you’ve move past the end point.
Avoid wind and dust. Spraying in a windy area will cause the paint to stray and miss what you’re intending it to land on. Dust will easily land on, and stick to the painted surface so ensure you’re painting in a clean area.
The best way to paint wicker and get great coverage is by giving it a spray!
I also love spraypaint for items that are metal and plastic, especially smaller items in your home as a little goes a long way. You must however spend the extra money and get good quality paint. Rustoleum which you can get at Bunnings or Plastikoat which you can buy at Mitre10.
