Building a new fence for privacy was high on the list for this home. Not to mention a new roof and full exterior paint! The brick at the entrance was changed to match the new fence bringing cohesion to the whole house. A pop of colour with an aqua door adds interest and draws you in.

Despite being light and bright this room felt smaller than it was due to poor configuration. The two small single in-built wardrobes on the left we’re removed instantly adding more space and a large new wardrobe was installed at the end of the room. The unfinished timber floors were covered with a warm and durable carpet to tie in with the rest of the home. The small external window on the back wall was removed to allow more options for the space. Bedside lighting was added to both sides of the wall so that this large room could be used for two single beds, one queen in the centre, or as a reading light over an occasional chair making it an incredibly versatile space.

The tiny kitchen in this home was built in a small lean-to just off the dining space that was about to fall off the house! This was ripped off in order to extend the entire back of the house three metres. This allowed a generous amount of space for open plan kitchen/dining off the living room for modern living. A large bi-fold window was added to allow easy viewing of the backyard and a stunning mountain view. It is also great for backyard entertaining and handing things back and forth from the kitchen to BBQ.

The living room was one of the few areas that needed little work though replacing the monster with aluminium double glazing (as was done throughout the home) was no mean feat! Again the ceilings were replaced with down lights fitted, fresh paint and white trim made all the difference. This allowed the homeowners to spend funds where they were needed most on the extension.

The addition of a large deck off the kitchen/dining space meant that the entertaining space in this house increased exponentially. The removal of the kitchen lean to opened the space right up allowing more light to enter the laundry at the back, and gives the whole home a less boxy look and feel.
